Callanish Celtic Band is pleased to welcome Shannon Heaton, internationally famed Irish traditional flute player, singer and story teller, to a solo performance at our home in Salt Lake City. Shannon has lived in her adopted home of Boston since 2001, where she was named 2016 Traditional Artist Fellow by the Massachusetts Cultural Council and has been twice named Live Ireland’s Female Artist of the Year. She is a warm, entertaining performer and excels at making Irish music relevant and accessible to a wide variety of audiences. She hosts the Irish Music Stories podcast and has been bringing people together with her YouTube channel for many years. The performance will be held on Tuesday, September 10th. Doors will open at 6pm and the music will start at 6:30pm. A $20 donation is requested with all money going to the artist. The concert will be held in the Sugarhouse neighborhood at 1265 E. Harrison Ave. (1380 s). There will be balloons at the west sidewalk entrance. Chairs will be provided and light refreshments will be served. Please note Harrison Ave. is steep and parking will be limited close to the house – carpooling is recommended.
